Mariam Darchiashvili

What started out as a hobby quickly became a life-long passion for Maria, whose first work was a reproduction of Dominique Ingres’ “Mademoiselle Caroline Rivière.” A self-taught painter who loves classical music and opera, Maria follows the steps of 18th century artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Gustave Courbet. She’s best with a black pencil, which she uses to capture the subtly raw side of her subjects.
